Dive into some Basketball history with this new re-mixed Converse Chuck Taylor sneaker.

Before watching the basketball comedy “Semi-Pro” starring Will Ferrell, I had no idea about the ABA. The American Basketball Association (ABA) was the birth of what we now know today as the National Basketball Association (NBA). This men’s professional basketball league made the transition from ABA to the NBA back in the late 1970s. Since then, the league has gradually grown into a global phenomenon with international appeal unlike any other.

Paying homage to Boston based branding, the sneaker is inspired by Dr. Funk's hoop squad of 1975. This reminiscent colorway is simple yet detrimental with its hand-selected hues. The legend of “Raygun” was established by previous Nike collaborations. By selecting to add some psychedelic flair to the Chuck 70, the best-selling sneaker of all-time has some groovy vibes. Overall, the canvas is bright White from the upper on down. A stark Black trim intricately borders the outline from throat to ankle region. Right below on the eggshell midsole has a set of team-colored stripes that are soft yet bold. Toe tips on the front have some far-out Yellow and Orange overlays that instantly grabs your attention. Last but not least, the footbeds have ‘Ray-Gun’ pressed with a shimmering finish.

The iconic Chuck Taylor silhouette has undergone many, many collaborations and customizations. Most of them add a different colorway or a unique twist to the sneaker, which results in another addition to the Converse shoe line. In this next iteration, Converse teams up with LA-based artist Joshua Vides. Known for his black-and-white sketch aesthetic, Joshua Vides' creativity is showcased tremendously in this sneaker.

In two different base colorways, the Converse x Joshua Vides Chuck Taylor 70 High Top allows for the wearer to adapt, style, and recraft their own shoe with patches. The shoe comes in the classic Chuck Taylor 70 High Top silhouette, with a hook-and-loop fastening upper. For personalization purposes, there are two interchangeable velcro panels for the medial, lateral and Chuck patch. The toe cap, bumper, rand, midsole, and outsole—shown through a translucent sepia rubber—feature Joshua Vides’ signature bold marker-style outline.

Converse, Joshua Vides and Chinatown dive deep into the customization of footwear with this exclusive UNT1TL3D collection.

Holding the record as one of this world's first and most beloved sneaker, the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star can pretty much go beyond limitations. Los Angeles-based artist Joshua Vides and Chinatown Market's Michael Cherman have accepted Converse's invitation on unlimited experiences with this trending collection. Joshua Vides and Chinatown Market deliver their own forward-thinking takes on the silhouette, while Converse itself serves up the “UNT1TL3D” pack.

This collection offers a variety pack of the high and low Chuck Taylor models. The "Not A Chuck" silhouette is an in-your-face design, a forward-thinking take on footwear. Each shoe boasts contrasting illustrations of “NOT A CHUCK” verbiage, described by Nike as “an ode to DIY decoration and the notion that a Chuck is defined only by the wearer.”

Hyped for the new One Star Golf Le Fleur "Industrial"

On another episode of Unboxed, Brian takes a dive into the newest Converse x Tyler The Creator collab, Industrial. The LA rapper brought a whole new respect on the Converse One Star with these floral-inspired releases. One such pack is the ‘Industrial’ collection which opts for a striking colour blocking theme. Dark navy contrasts against hits of light blue and vibrant green. The unique flower motif, now synonymous with Golf Le Fleur, stretches along the sidewall. Unlike previous styles, this pair also includes “Golf Le Fleur” branding. The Converse x Golf Le Fleur Industrial is finished off with a set of contrasting white laces. To complete the look, a chunky cream coloured midsole sits underfoot and a white inner lining provides a final contrast.
