Dropping Soon: Nike Dunk Low “Split Chicago”

The upcoming release of the Nike Dunk Low "Split Chicago" is set to be a major highlight for sneakerheads and collectors this year. Paying homage to the OG Air Jordan 1 "Chicago," this fresh colorway brings a new twist to the ubiquitous Dunk silhouette.

The "Split Chicago" Dunk Low boasts a white leather upper with bright “University Red” leather overlays on the mudguards, eyestays, and heels. However, what truly sets this iteration apart is the bold split design applied to the side-panel Swoosh overlays. The front halves come in black, while the back halves are dressed in pristine white.

Down below, rubber midsole units come in a clean "Sail" color. This choice complements the white upper, providing a subtle contrast that enhances the overall look. The outsoles utilize a captivating blend of "Light Silver" and black, completing the look.

Windy City basketball is unlike any other. Mostly because of frigid climate conditions with even colder jump shots. Chicago raised blacktop legends while being the trophy room for the greatest player to have worn a Bulls jersey (arguably any jersey for that matter). Since the 2020 NBA All-Star Game is being held in the city of Chicago, Brand Jordan is pulling no stops with the Retro Air Jordan is this Chicago edition.

Attention to detail is what makes this drop monumental. To commemorate the NBA All-Star Game being held in Chicago, the “AIR” on the back heel is replaced with “CHI”. This subtle feature is a distinct difference from the general releases in the past. This particular Retro 3 is scorching in a ‘Fire Red’ upper that is captivating to the eye. The quality fabric was used with thick tumble leather for a torch appeal. Classic elephant print grace the front toe and back heel in its original color and texture. The Jumpman makes an appearance on the tongue with embroidered stitching. Last but not least, White/Grey/Red outsole with the oval ‘Air’ pocket makes the sneaker complete.

DTLR Hosts All-Star Weekend Dinner with NBA Superstar Kendrick Nunn

A star-studded event for the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend. Sponsored by classic denim brand, Levi's.

What a night to remember as we celebrated Miami Heat's Kendrick Nunn and the excitement of the NBA All-Star Weekend for an intimate gathering in Chicago, Illinois. The event took place at Gibson Italia where our illustrious attendees were greeted with first-class treatment, exquisite foods, top-notch drinks, and an overall warm atmosphere-- while overlooking the Chicago River and city skyline.

Some notable guests were Natalie Nunn from Bad Girls Club, rappers and Chicago natives, Lil Reese and Rarri, and many more. The vibe was like no other and the drinks, of course, themed for the occasion. Casamigos accompanied our Levi's sponsorship to make the official drink of the night, "The Nunn Better." To continue in the celebration of a joyous occasion, a special toast was given by DTLR Radio's King Flexxa to highlight Kendrick's success.

The icing on top a perfect night was the presentation of Kendrick's custom Levi's Trucker, personally designed by our DTLR Brand Marketing Manager. Special thanks to the Levi's Tailor Shop customization artist, Adam Curry, for helping along the way. That wasn't the only special treat. Our guests were also gifted with their very own premium Levi's x DTLR trucker jackets!

The perfect nightcap included words of appreciation from Kendrick Nunn, more entertaining comradery, and a lovely farewell to our wonderful guests.
