Continuity would suggest that the Air Jordan 4 Retro would be next in line for a “Lucky Green” makeover, but that’s not the case. It appears that the Air Jordan 5 Retro will be the next model to grace the green hue.
Slated to hit shelves later this month, the women’s Air Jordan 5 Retro “Lucky Green” has a premium white leather base with matching TPU mesh windows and eyestays. The tongues, uppermost eyestays, and embroidered Jumpman logos on the heels are done in black, adding contrast to the design.
The star of the show, the titular “Lucky Green” tone, is laced throughout, coloring the sockliners, the tongues’ Jumpman emblems, the “23” insignias on the heels, and the foam midsole units. The look is capped off with icy, semi-translucent rubber outsoles.
Don’t sleep – the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Lucky Green” will be available in-store and online at DTLR.com on Wednesday, February 28th, in women’s sizes.
]]>The Air Jordan 5 was first released in 1990, designed by Tinker Hatfield, who was also responsible for the iconic Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4. The shoe features a unique design inspired by World War II fighter planes, with a suede upper, TPU lace locks, and a semi-translucent rubber outsole.
This "University Blue" colorway uses a vibrant shade of blue that pays homage to Jordan’s Tar Heels. The upper is done in baby-blue suede, while Jumpman-branded tongues come in reflective 3M. Down below, the sneaker features black foam midsoles, which house visible Air units in the heels. The heels are accented with Team Jordan jock tags in place of the typical Jumpman embroidery. Clear rubber outsoles complete the look, adding a touch of retro style to the shoe.

Last year, Jordan Brand released a “University Blue” Air Jordan 13 that called to mind NBA star Chris Paul’s Air Jordan 13 PEs from his time with the New Orleans Hornets. Now, in 2023, Jordan plans to drop a sneaker inspired by another one of the point guard’s player-exclusive pairs.
The upcoming Air Jordan 5 Retro “Aqua” is a riff on Paul’s Air Jordan 5s. Outfitted with a Hornets-inspired color scheme, this pair features a black nubuck upper with semi-translucent mesh overlays on the quarter panels and lower tongues. The upper is accented with “Aqua”-colored Jumpman embroidery on the tongues and heels – the same tone is used for the tongue’s lining. Speaking of tongues, this pair features 3M reflective ones.
Moving towards the sole, you’ll come across blacked-out foam midsoles, which feature the model’s signature spiky accents in a speckled “Taxi” tone. Visible Air units provide cushion to the heels, while the outsoles are done in semi-translucent “Aqua”-colored rubber.

This new colorway is done in premium suede, which has been given an extraterrestrial “Martian Sunrise” finish. Tonal “23” embroidery lands on the sneaker’s lateral heels, while black Jumpman emblems brand the backside. From there, milky TPU mesh accents dress the quarter-panel windows and lower tongues – that same semi-translucent finish is used for the lace locks. Reflective tongues with embroidered Jumpman logos round out the upper’s design.
The upper sits atop black foam midsole units that feature the silhouette’s signature spiky pattern. Visible Air units provide additional cushioning, while milky, semi-translucent rubber outsoles provide traction.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro “Dunk on Mars” is set to launch on DTLR.com and DTLR stores on January 14th in women’s sizing. Retail is set at $200.

When it comes to Air Jordan Retros, original colorways are almost always preferred – how could they not be? The cool factor that comes from seeing Michael Jordan wear a pair of OG Air Jordans on the court is rarely (if ever) matched, even by the high-profile collaborations we’ve been seeing of late. But what happens when an original color scheme of a beloved model makes its way onto a silhouette that has no ties to said blocking? It looks like we’re about to find out.
The similarities between the forthcoming Air Jordan 5 “Dark Concord” and the original Air Jordan 11 colorway go beyond the appointed moniker. This release will feature a white leather upper and black foam midsoles, which mimic the “Concord” Air Jordan 11’s black patent leather mudguards.
Like the OG, this new release uses its namesake sparingly. The grape flavor dresses the midsole’s shark teeth, sockliners, and Jumpman embroidery at the tongues and the heels. In another nod to the original, the side-panel mesh netting and rubber outsoles are done in an icy, semi-translucent rubber.
Looking to grab a pair? Head over to DTLR.com or your nearest DTLR store to purchase the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Dark Concord” on August 6th. They will be available in full-family sizing.
